"Tastefully Yours" (Loving Trace) is the latest work of Kang Ha Neul and Go Min Si. Despite expectations, the film recorded low viewership ratings, reaching 1.6% and 2% in the first 2 episodes, respectively.
The story revolves around the love of the heir to the Han Beom Woo Group (Kang Ha Neul) and the stubborn female chef Mo Yeon Joo (Go Min Si). Despite their different culinary backgrounds and philosophies, they together run a small restaurant in Jeonju.
Ten Asia assessed that despite his eye-catching image, beautiful young cast, Go Min Si's outdated, predictable storytelling style and unprofessional Jeonju local voice have caused the film "The beautiful taste of love" to receive mixed reviews.
With this role, Go Min Si has put a lot of effort into it. The actress once shared that if she had not had experience from the show "Jinny's Kitchen 2", she would find it difficult to transform into Mo Yeon Joo.
She spends time learning Jeonju locally accurately, while always checking her language and how she uses it when speaking. However, Go Min Si's efforts were not well received by the audience.
"I don't know if it's Chungcheong or Jeolla anymore", "She should only speak in standard Korean", "Go Min Si's acting seems unnatural"... are comments from viewers quoted by Ten Asia.
On the other hand, the actress's "chemistry" with Kang Ha Neul was also criticized for being awkward."
The only bright spot for the current audience is Kang Ha Neul's natural and graceful acting. Taking on the role of Han Beom Woo, Kang Ha Neul made viewers believe that this was a legitimate " homeowner" - someone who did not care about cuisine, only chased after fame and achievements.
Many viewers commented that just seeing Kang Ha Neul's face makes them feel happy. This is also the desire of the Korean star when participating in the project - that is "Love Estate" will become a film that people think about before going to bed and falling asleep.
