Speaking at the opening of the contest, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that the purpose of the contest is not only to search for beautiful products, but also to serve cultural exchange, foreign affairs, tourism promotion, promotion, introduction of the image of the land, people of Hai Phong and the culture of the Eastern region, contributing to enriching the identity of the Hai Phong tourism brand. Through the contest, the Department hopes to find souvenir product models with new designs and high vulnerability, to support businesses and souvenir production facilities to diversify product designs, meeting customer requirements and tastes. The entries must closely follow the theme, content, and rules of the contest, and generally, retain the most typical features of the image of the land, people of Hai Phong and the culture of the East, with creativity, aesthetics, and high artistry.
The theme and content of the entries are: "identity and mark of Hai Phong city through souvenirs for tourists". The contest is held in 2 rounds: round 1 from August 2025 to the end of November 2025 to receive entries; the expected judging time: week 1 of December 2025. Summary of round 1 expected in week 2 of December 2025 (since launching the implementation of manufacturing and production into complete works - Round 2).
Round 2 from December 2025 to April 2026. Time to receive entries: from December 15, 2025 to March 31, 2026. Expected judging time: 2 weeks in early April 2026. The Award Ceremony is scheduled for the 3rd week of April 2026. Products that won prizes at the 2026 Red Phuong Flower Festival.
All Vietnamese citizens and overseas Vietnamese have the right to submit entries, except for members of the Organizing Committee and the Jury. The Organizing Committee and the Jury will base on the criteria to evaluate the designs, including: Creativity, aesthetics, commerciality, environmental friendliness, culture, natural resources, tourism, architecture, and people of Hai Phong.
Each author/group of authors will submit a maximum of 5 design samples for the contest. Round 1, 30 designs with the highest scores will be awarded a Certificate by the Organizing Committee and accompanied by 1 First Prize: 10,000,000 VND, 2 Second Prizes of 7,000,000 VND/tournament; 3 Third Prizes of 5,000,000 VND/tournament; 24 Creativity Prizes: 2,000,000 VND/tournament.
In round 2, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize: VND 15,000,000; 2 Second Prizes: VND 10,000,000/tournament; 3 Third Prizes: VND 7,000,000/tournament; 5 Impressive Prizes of VND 5,000,000/tournament. During the contest organization process, if necessary, the Organizing Committee will consider and decide to change the prize structure to suit the actual situation.
