The Asia Summit is an annual event held to connect influential leaders in fields such as finance, health, technology and philanthropy. Many influential global speakers have participated in this event such as CEO Elon Musk, football star David Beckham, former CEO of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi, actress Yang Zi Quynh...
At the recent conference, as a representative of UNICEF, Hannah Nguyen (Hannah Olala) and Korean singer and actor Choi Siwon discussed the topic "Outstanding Returns: Investing in Children for Global Progress", emphasizing investment in children. In particular, the businesswoman also spread the message calling on the international community to support Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon Yagi.
Having personally donated $20,000 to help with flood relief, Hannah Olala called for international donations in her speech, saying, “It’s not just about clearing roads or rebuilding homes, it’s about saving lives, restoring hope, and rebuilding the future.”
“I urge everyone at the conference to join me. As leaders in the international community, we who have influence have the power to help. Together, we can help those affected by disasters feel that they are not alone. We can make the difference between despair and hope,” Hannah Olala said emotionally.
Returning to the topic of children, Hannah Olala highlighted investing in education, empowerment, protecting women and girls from abuse and violence, and supporting mental health care.
“I believe that the greatest legacy a person can leave behind is not how rich or famous they are, but how they change the lives of others. As I have developed my personal brand in the beauty industry, I have seen the power of confidence and self-expression. Beauty is not just about appearance, but also about knowledge and individuality. True empowerment is about breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for girls and women.
This understanding made me want to do more. I wanted to be an advocate for change and started my journey as a philanthropist. I joined UNICEF because it is a trustworthy organization and shares the same vision of helping disadvantaged children, especially girls.
My journey as an entrepreneur has shown me the power of speaking up and using my influence to help others. I believe that when we invest in girls and women, we invest in the future of the next generation. They are the ones who create and raise the next generation,” Hannah Olala said at the 2024 Asia Summit.
Sharing after the event, businesswoman Hannah Olala said she was very proud to become the 150th member of the UNICEF International Council. In this position, she knows that she has contributed to changing the lives of many children, especially becoming an example for her son to follow.
Hannah Olala is a businesswoman, philanthropist, and influencer in Vietnam. She is a member of UNICEF's Global Donor Council, actively working to build a better, fairer world for children, especially girls in Vietnam.
