On June 29, the program "American Cinema Focus" within the framework of the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) officially opened at Le Do cinema with the classic work Somewhere in Time by director Jeannot Szwarc.
The event was attended by Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan - Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Promotion of Cinema Development; Mr. Ha Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City; Mr. Sean Boda - Acting Counselor of Information - Culture of the US Embassy.
On the side of international guests, there was the presence of Hollywood star Jane Seymour and veteran producer Bill Mechanic - former Chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox.
Chosen as the opening work, Somewhere in Time (released in 1980) brings a romantic story mixed with fantasy elements. The film revolves around a playwright who tries to turn back time to 1912 to pursue his love for a stage actress whom he falls in love with after seeing her old portrait.
At the post-screening exchange, the female lead of the movie - star Jane Seymour could not hide her emotion.

The focus of American cinema will bring 13 typical works spanning from the silent film era to contemporary cinema.
According to Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, the series of events not only honors seventh art but is also a bridge to promote cultural exchange and film cooperation between Vietnam and the United States.
