In a new conversation with Dazed Magazine, Jung So Min shared many side stories surrounding the romantic comedy "Mother's Friend's Son" in which she stars alongside Jung Hae In.
Taking on the lead role of Bae Seok Ryu, Jung So Min was praised for her appearance and acting. Her role was built as a perfect child in her mother's eyes: good at studying, always ranked first, studying abroad in the US and working at a large global corporation.
However, Seok Ryu's life hit rock bottom when she suddenly returned home after breaking off her engagement and quitting her job at the company.
After 14/16 episodes, the couple Seok Ryu and Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In) are getting closer to marriage, while the knots of conflicts between family, children, friends, and neighbors are gradually being resolved.
Talking about the film, Jung So Min said that this is a story that young people can easily experience when living in this era.
"I couldn't help but feel drawn to it because it's a story about peers. It's not just the story of our generation, but also the story of other eras that we've observed closely. It's all intertwined."
Given the developments of "Your Mother's Son", it is likely that the film will have a happy ending. The actress is quite open about this.
“Of course I want my life to have a happy ending, but I tend to accept the work as it is,” she said. “I’m not sure if the ending is really that important. For me, it’s as important as the beginning, the middle.
In a story, the ending is sometimes not the complete ending. Since my work involves telling the beginning and the end of the story, as well as the things before and after, when I watch other works, I tend to draw a lot of the characters' lives before and after. There are things, I would never imagine if I didn't act."
