On May 1st, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province was assigned to comprehensively review and re-evaluate community tourism models, in order to create sustainable livelihoods for people.
Gia Lai is oriented to focus resources on upgrading and diversifying experiences and strengthening tour and route links at many typical tourist destinations.
Among them, products that are focused on include fishing village cultural experiences in Nhon Ly, Nhon Hai; agricultural tourism in Thuan Nghia vegetable village; eco-tourism and culture associated with forest and stream landscapes in K3 village (Vinh Son commune), along with Plei Op villages (Pleiku ward), Ia Nueng (Bien Ho commune), Kep (IaLy commune), Mo Hra-Dap (To Tung commune)...
The goal is to shift from spontaneous exploitation to professional service development, thereby bringing tourists profound experiences about local life and culture.
Each locality in the province needs to strive to develop at least one community tourism model based on its own advantages in resources and cultural identity.
This approach aims to avoid product duplication, create diversity for Gia Lai tourism, and at the same time open up more economic development opportunities for people in remote and isolated areas.
The provincial government requires preserving cultural identity from coastal to mountainous areas in tourist villages, not over-commercialising to cause impact.
