Hanoi Documentary Week on VTVGo digital platform includes 20 films and the audience can choose any film to enjoy, regardless of the broadcast time or channel, making access easier. The film topics are quite diverse in many fields from archeology, history, lifestyle, customs to colorful stories in life... recreating different historical periods of Hanoi.
The film week has created a positive effect on the audience with multi-dimensional perspectives on Hanoi, its culture and people throughout history, and through digital platforms, it has reached viewers of many different audiences, including Vietnamese people living abroad...
During the film week, there were 3 days of live film screenings for the audience (from October 4 to 6 at S7 studio), including the film “Doctor Tran Duy Hung - A Hanoi Dignity” that created a lot of sympathy for the audience. Doctor Tran Duy Hung, the first Chairman of the Capital Administrative Committee (now the Hanoi People's Committee), made contributions to the development of Hanoi through groundbreaking policies.
The 25 minutes of the film produced by the Documentary Centre (Vietnam Television) also recreated the image of a leader who is very close to the people, understands the people, listens to all opinions of the people to make policies contributing to the development of Hanoi. Sharing with the audience and the media, director Pham Hang Giang said that the work of finding materials for the film was very difficult, but fortunately the film crew had access to many valuable sources of materials...
At the film premiere, Ms. Tran Anh Tuyet, daughter of Dr. Tran Duy Hung, was moved by the realistic footage and emphasized: “My father loves Hanoi and is proud to be a Hanoian, dedicating himself to the development of the capital. Therefore, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, I miss my father so much.” What Ms. Tuyet remembers most about her father is his simplicity, sincerity and the elegance of a Hanoian.

In an outside conversation, director and People's Artist Le Thi said: During the liberation of the Capital, no documentary filmmaker of ours was present on October 10, 1954. The only color footage of the Capital Liberation Day was made by the film crew of director Roman Karmen (former Soviet Union) in the film "Vietnam on the Road to Victory". Roman Karmen went to Vietnam and filmed footage from the end of the Dien Bien Phu campaign until the Capital Liberation Day with images of French soldiers withdrawing across Long Bien bridge, the scene of people happily welcoming our troops into Hanoi on Bach Mai street...
Roman Karmen is a famous director of documentaries about the Spanish Civil War (1936 - 1939) and World War II... The film "Vietnam on the Road to Victory" has images of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap... in the Viet Bac resistance base; the Dien Bien Phu Victory scene with French tanks captured by the army running on Muong Thanh field, Viet Minh soldiers waving flags on the roof of De Castries bunker; the scene of the takeover of the Capital on October 10, 1954...
