Victor Vu has just announced the first look poster (first image) of "Detective Kien: The Golden Curse", marking the return of the character Detective Kien after the success of "Detective Kien: The Unnamed Case".
The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters during Tet 2027, belonging to the genres of detective, ancient costumes and mystery. Quoc Huy continues to play the main role, while the remaining faces in the cast have not been announced.
Victor Vu's early confirmation of the release schedule has made the 2027 Tet movie race heat up. In recent years, Tran Thanh has been a prominent name in the Tet box office with a series of high-grossing films. Therefore, Victor Vu's new project is considered a potential candidate to create significant competitiveness if the male director of "Dad" continues to release new works. Previously, Tran Thanh also confirmed his return to the 2027 Tet movie season with "Em".

The work continues to be inspired by the novel "Phuc Gia Truyen" by writer Hong Thai. Victor Vu said that the team's goal is not simply to make a larger film, but to build a story that is new and attractive enough.
Those who have not seen part one can still enjoy it completely. The world of Detective Kien 2 is full of unpredictable dangers," the director shared.
Producer Dinh Ngoc Diep revealed that the crew spends a lot of time on the setting, costumes, colors and art. Many details only appear for a few seconds on screen but require many days of preparation to contribute to expressing the psychology and fate of the characters.
Released in 2025, "Detective Kien: The Untold Case" attracted attention thanks to the combination of detective work with Vietnamese history and culture. The success of the work helps the character Detective Kien become a rare image with the potential to develop into a long-term brand of Vietnamese cinema.
