According to updated data as of February 20, the movie "Bau vat troi cho" achieved about 24 billion VND in revenue, currently ranked 3rd among Vietnamese films released in theaters during Tet 2026. In the context of the Tet film season competing with many different genres, this achievement shows the stable appeal of the film aimed at family and love themes.
The biggest point of curiosity for viewers is that the crew revealed that the film has two different ending versions. From the 2nd day of Tet, some viewers discovered this detail when comparing viewing experiences at different screenings. Information quickly spread, causing many people to return to the cinema to verify, contributing to maintaining discussions about the film on social networks.


Previously, the film crew's cinetour series started in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting a large number of audiences to interact directly. Trung Dan, Quach Ngoc Ngoan, Tuan Tran, Phuong Anh Dao, Vo Tan Phat, Thu Dan, Hung Nguyen, Khuong Le and Khuyen Duong participated in the activity. The meetings took place in a friendly atmosphere, with many shares revolving around the filmmaking process and the emotions of the artists when the work was released during Tet.
After Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation continued to Can Tho, Dong Thap, Vinh Long. At each stop, local audiences gave warm welcome, many families came to the cinema to both watch the movie and participate in giao lưu. Moments of artists chatting, signing autographs and taking photos with viewers were widely spread on social networks, contributing to increasing the recognition of the film.
Director Le Thanh Son said that he was touched by the audience's affection for the film crew after a long time of preparing the project. The male director shared that directly meeting viewers in cinetour sessions helps the crew better understand public feedback, and at the same time have more motivation for the next projects.
In the movie, Phuong Anh Dao plays Ngoc - a single mother who has a child thanks to artificial insemination. The sea trip to change the atmosphere made her meet Hong (Tuan Tran), a liberal fishing village boy who is also related to the birth of the child. The unexpected meeting pulls the three characters into a series of situations that are both humorous and emotional, revolving around the story of family, understanding and choice of each person before fate.
Phuong Anh Dao said that this is a role she has wanted for a long time because it brings a lot of positive energy and touches motherhood. Meanwhile, Quach Ngoc Ngoan expressed his gratitude that the audience still has affection for him in his return to cinema, and hoped that the public would support Vietnamese films released during Tet.
Besides familiar faces, young actors such as Thu Dan, Khuong Le, Hung Nguyen also received attention in exchanges. In particular, Khuyen Duong with the character "Sister Phien" often becomes the focus thanks to his humorous chatting style, creating a lively atmosphere at the cinema.
