On June 3, the Organizing Committee announced the film "My Mother" by Viet Van, a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, which was selected for the official nomination list for the second quarter of 2024 - 2025 of the Golden Short Film Festival (Italy) in the category: Golden Producer.

This is a 37-minute documentary, directed and filmed by: Viet Van, screenwriter and production organizer: Dang Thu Ha (Cinema 3D Company). The judges gave the film highlights and opinions on its uniqueness.

The film recreates the portrait of a mother, a literary researcher, and Associate Professor. Dr. Le Thi Duc Hanh (91 years old) with her old life in a small room with many simple, humane worries and wishes.

The Golden Short Film Festival honors the best and most outstanding short films from around the world. According to the organizers: We consider filmmaking art an essential part of life and encourage works to use a strong storytelling style to create a unique vision.

Cinema, as a fictional tool, is based on a simple, core affirmation: Storytelling is to feel empathy. The results of the 3rd quarter winners will be announced in June and the final results of the year in August 2025.

Previously, the film My Mother was selected (Official Selection) for First-Time Filmmaker Sessions volume 3 at the Lift-Off Film Festival (UK) for independent short films and feature films. The film My Mother and other films were sold to audiences to watch online on Vimeo for two weeks from May 19 to June 1.
