The crew of "Red Rain" has officially released the trailer for the film, revealing tragic images of the 81 days and nights battle to protect the ancient citadel of Quang Tri - one of the most fierce and heroic campaigns in the resistance war against the US to save the country. In particular, the trailer also introduced the diplomatic terrain for the first time at the Paris Conference in 1972, with the appearance of all parties participating in historic negotiations.
The trailer opens with the scene of Quang Tri struggling under the "rain of bombs and bullets", the bloody red Thach Han River, interspersed with the cold line of General Cao Van (played by Lam Vissay): "At all costs, Quang Tri must be re-occurred... so that Hanoi will not have a place to wear even in the so-called Paris Forum".
Quang Tri province has an important strategic position in the entire context of the war. After the Spring - Summer campaign in 1972, Quang Tri was the first province to be liberated, becoming the target of re-occurrence at all costs by the US - Wei military.
This creates a strong connection between the Old Citadel Front and the Paris negotiations table - a non-smoked battle but with a comprehensive strategic influence. The trailer fully introduces the 4 parties participating in the Paris Conference: the Vietnam Democratic Republic delegation, the Vietnam Provisional Revolutionary Government delegation in South Vietnam, the Vietnam Republic delegation, and the United States delegation. In it, the representative of the Republic of Vietnam (played by Mai The Hiep) has a memorable line: "A country cannot have two suns, only one - and that is us".

At the same time, on the battlefield of Quang Tri, the 1st Battalion and the 3rd Tam Son Battalion fought steadfastly to hold each piece of land. Under the charge of fire that lasted for 81 days and nights - equivalent to 7 Hiroshima nuclear bombs in 1945 - the image of each convoy of tanks and American aircraft dropping heavy bombs made the audience tremble.
The official poster of the film was also released along with the trailer, expressing the decisive spirit for the Fatherland of the soldiers in their twenties.
The film Red Rain also unexpectedly revealed the supporting role of the Democratic Union of Vietnam played by Hoa Minzy - who also performed the title track (ost) for the film. One of the touching moments was when she choked up as she reported: "The soldiers fought very steadfastly... The ancient citadel front was still held firmly."
"Red Rain" was released on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, a gift of gratitude to the spirit of those who have fallen for independence and peace. At the same time, the film is also a bridge between history and the present, inspiring patriotism and revolutionary ideals for the younger generation.
The film is classified as T13 (recommended for viewers aged 13 and over), allowing for more wide access to young audiences. The film will premiere on August 22, 2025.
