During the 3 days from September 4 to September 6, the People's Army Cinema under the General Department of Politics, Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri organized the premiere of the film "Red Rain".
This is an activity to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and veterans and to thank the people of Quang Tri, the land that marked the fierce battle in 1972,
The film was shown at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center. Hundreds of veterans, relatives of martyrs and local people were present early to wait and see.

In particular, in Quang Tri ancient citadel alone, the premiere attracted nearly 6,000 attendees, many of whom traveled dozens of kilometers to enjoy it with their own eyes.
"Red Rain" brought the audience back the fierce moments of the campaign to protect Quang Tri ancient citadel. The scenes of war invalids biting their teeth in pain due to running out of anesthetics, soldiers fighting in a one-on-one battle, or the image of crossing Thach Han River in the rain of bombs and bullets made many people cry.
The film is mixed with scenes of military discussions and negotiations on the Paris Agreement, reflecting the close connection between the military and diplomatic fronts.

Veteran Mai Huu Tuoc (Dong Son ward, Quang Tri), who was a military doctor during the resistance war against the US, burst into tears when recalling his memories of the battlefield. He emotionally said: The film is very realistically recreated. I felt like I could see the red blood, the national flag and the War Invalids' Basement where I used to work.
At Quang Tri ancient citadel, the organizing committee arranged the first row of seats especially solemnly: each seat has a backpack, a hood and white chrysanthemum flowers. Those seats symbolize the soldiers who heroically sacrificed their lives in the 81-day and night campaign. This simple but sacred image made the whole audience silent in emotion.
Not only does the film evoke memories, it also evoke pride. Veteran Tran Kien Cuong (Quang Tri ward) shared: "The characters in the film were our bodies at that time. The film clearly depicts the fierceness of war and the noble comradeship. Soldiers are willing to sacrifice themselves to help their comrades continue fighting, that is the greatest happiness".

Notably, the film's setting was mainly done in Quang Tri, including the reconstruction of the ancient citadel and the Thach Han river. A large number of local people participate in mass acting, contributing to increasing authenticity. Many people commented that "Red Rain" is not only a work of art but also a compass to express gratitude to those who have fallen.
"Red Rain" was built from the inspiration of the 81 days and nights of fighting to protect Quang Tri ancient citadel in 1972, a bright symbol of revolutionary heroism.
The widely released film on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 has brought profound meaning: remembering the sacrifice of our ancestors, educating the tradition of patriotism for today's generation.
For Quang Tri people, the film is not only a cinematic work, but also a collective memory recreated through vivid images. The tears falling in the cinema are a testament to the nation's endless gratitude and pride in the indomitable spirit.
