Tran Thanh and Truong Giang's Tet movie attracts audiences in Ho Chi Minh City

The atmosphere of Tet cinemas in Ho Chi Minh City in the first days of the new year recorded a large number of audiences coming to buy Tet movie tickets.

At many cinema complexes, from ticket counters to corn selling areas are always bustling, many people waiting to buy tickets for screenings during the day. Vietnamese films screened during Tet such as "Thỏ ơi!! ", "Nhà ba tôi một phòng", "Báu vật trời cho" or "Mùi phở" all attract the attention of audiences, creating a vibrant picture for the film market at the beginning of the year.

According to records, many families choose to go to the movies as an entertainment activity at the beginning of the year. At the cinema lobby, many spectators lined up early to buy tickets or get tickets booked online, while the corn selling area was also crowded with customers before the screening. The bustling atmosphere lasted from the afternoon to the evening.

In the box office race, Tran Thanh's "Thỏ ơi!!" continues to show superior attraction. As of February 18, the film achieved revenue of about 73.9 billion VND, far ahead of the remaining competitors. Many evening screenings recorded high occupancy rates, showing that the heat of the work has not cooled down after its release.

In the next position, Truong Giang's "My Father's House, One Room" currently achieved revenue of more than 23.5 billion VND, maintaining a stable level thanks to its comedy-family content, suitable for many audience groups during Tet. The film was chosen as a light entertainment option for early year reunions.

Meanwhile, "Bau vat troi cho" recorded revenue of about 11.79 billion VND, while "Mui pho" reached nearly 9.91 billion VND. Although not creating a strong breakthrough like the two leading films, these works still contribute to diversifying choices for audiences, especially during daytime screenings or in suburban cinema complexes.

According to an employee of a cinema complex in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, the number of customers increased significantly during the Tet holidays. Many groups of young people and families chose to watch movies combined with shopping and eating at shopping centers, causing the cinema area to always be crowded.

Audience member Viet Anh (resident of Saigon ward) shared that going to see Vietnamese movies at the beginning of the year has become a family habit. "After going to wish Tet, the whole family often invites each other to go to the cinema to watch movies. Both for entertainment and to support Vietnamese movies. The movie that our family prioritizes choosing is "Thỏ ơi!! ". We consider adding the movie "Nhà ba tôi một phòng" (My father's house in one room)," Audience member Viet Anh said.

Audience Hong Hanh (resident of Phu Dinh ward) said that she and her friends chose to watch the movies "Báu vật trời cho" and "Thỏ ơi!!" because they quite suit the taste of young people watching movies. Hong Hanh assessed that this year's Tet movie season has great competition but clear differentiation. The movies "Thỏ ơi!!" by Tran Thanh and "Nhà ba tôi một phòng" by Truong Giang are more popular.

The bustling atmosphere at cinema complexes shows the stable appeal of the Tet movie market, where famous works still play a leading role. With the current momentum, "Thỏ ơi!!" is predicted to continue to increase revenue, while "Nhà ba tôi một phòng", "Báu vật trời cho" and "Mùi phở" still maintain a certain audience, contributing to keeping the heat for the Vietnamese box office at the beginning of the year.
