On January 31, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that on the evening of January 30, at NUSTAR Convention Center (Cebu City, Philippines), Quy Nhon was honored as "ASEAN Clean Tourism City 2026".
The ASEAN Tourism Awards ceremony is the most important event at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, to honor localities and units that meet standards in many strict categories such as: green hotels, MICE facilities, sustainable tourism products and clean tourism cities.
Overcoming strict criteria on environmental management, green space, waste treatment and ensuring urban safety, Quy Nhon excellently won the title "ASEAN Clean Tourism Urban 2026".
This is the 3rd consecutive time Quy Nhon has been honored at the ASEAN Tourism Forum. Maintaining this title has affirmed the prestige of the coastal city, and at the same time demonstrated the continuous efforts in building a green, clean, and friendly living and tourism environment.
In 2026, Gia Lai province hosts the National Tourism Year. In the strategy to develop a journey connecting the great mountains and forests and the blue sea, Quy Nhon's maintenance of the "ASEAN Clean Tourism" brand is considered a "magnet" to attract international tourists.
This title contributes to raising the prestige of the province's tourism service chain, creating peace of mind for tourists about the quality of the environment when coming to Gia Lai. Quy Nhon is not only a destination of Vietnam but is increasingly clearly positioned on the regional and world tourism map, thereby contributing to stimulating tourism demand for neighboring localities to develop together.
Mr. Phan Tuan Hoang - Standing Vice Chairman of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee - said that the locality is very honored to continue to receive this prestigious award. The Quy Nhon tourism brand in particular, and Gia Lai province in general, is increasingly clearly positioned and known to a large number of tourists, creating motivation for the locality to continue to maintain its value, promote its potential, and build Quy Nhon to be increasingly green - clean - beautiful.
Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province - affirmed that Quy Nhon's 3rd award is a strong commitment of Gia Lai to international friends at the ATF 2026 Forum. Gia Lai province in general and Quy Nhon in particular are always ready to welcome tourists with friendliness, professionalism and a high-quality tourism environment.
It can be said that the title "ASEAN Clean Tourism City 2026" is an important driving force for Gia Lai province to be ready and confident in successfully organizing the National Tourism Year 2026, affirming its position as an attractive destination on the regional tourism map.
