Cultural space retains tourists
In the last days of August, the center of Sa Pa ward becomes bustling when a large number of people and tourists immerse themselves in a series of cultural and artistic activities organized on the occasion of National Day September 2nd.
One of the highlights is the program recreating the Highland Market and Sa Pa Love Market organized by the Community Connection Culture Cooperative in coordination with Sa Pa Ward.
Here, the unique cultural features of the highlands are introduced through khen sounds, dances, traditional costumes, cuisine, agricultural products and handicrafts.
The market space creates opportunities for people and tourists to directly visit, experience, and learn about the cultural life of ethnic minorities in the area.
In particular, the Love Market is known as a cultural activity associated with Sa Pa.
However, along with changes in social life, this traditional living space is no longer maintained as before.
The re-enactment of the Highland Market and Sa Pa Love Market this time aims to create a community cultural living space, and at the same time add products to serve tourism during the National Day.
Cultural space attracts the attention of domestic and foreign tourists. Through music, dances and experiential activities, traditional values are introduced in an intuitive and close way.
Tourist Ngo Duy Dung, from Hanoi, shared that such activities create a joyful atmosphere during the holiday, and at the same time help tourists understand more about the culture, life and people of the locality.
Brocade on the streets, Sa Pa becomes more brilliant
During the National Day holiday on September 2nd, Sa Pa continues to be vibrant with the Street Carnival Parade Program - a highlight within the framework of the first Northwest Brocade Carnival.
The highlight of the event is the parade of 5 art cars, honoring the unique culture of 5 ethnic groups: Red Dao, H'Mong, Tay, Giay and Xa Pho.
Artisans and actors in traditional costumes and folk musical instruments create a brilliant cultural flow through the central streets.
The art carriage moved around Sa Pa Lake, attracting the attention of people and a large number of tourists.
The program contributes to honoring the beauty of patterns, indigo colors and traditional weaving techniques, while opening up an additional space to promote Sa Pa culture and tourism in a close and lively way.
On August 31st, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. To Ngoc Lien - Secretary of the Party Committee of Sa Pa Ward said that during the National Day holiday of September 2nd this year, the locality is expected to welcome about 400,000 - 500,000 visitors.
To serve a large number of passengers, Lao Cai Provincial Police mobilized traffic police and mobile police forces to coordinate with grassroots security forces to organize traffic diversion and regulation on roads leading to the center of Sa Pa.
On some crowded streets such as Fansipan, Cau May..., functional forces organized remote traffic diversion, restricting vehicles from moving at crowded times, prioritizing space for pedestrians and tourists.
Mr. To Ngoc Lien emphasized that the locality identifies ensuring safety for people and tourists as one of the key tasks during the holidays.
The ward will strengthen inspections and remind businesses to strictly comply with regulations on safety, price listing and environmental sanitation to ensure a good image with tourists.
