Musician Nguyen Thuy Kha was born in 1949 in Hai Phong, later lived and worked in Hanoi. He graduated from the University of Information and Nguyen Du Writing School, then joined the army.
Nguyen Thuy Kha served in the Vietnam People's Army from 1972 to 1982 as an information engineer in the Information Corps, directly participating in combat in the fierce battlefields of Quang Tri, Zone 5 and the Central Highlands. During the period 1982-1990, he was a propaganda officer.
The Truth National Political Publishing House once introduced the book "Memories of Quang Tri" collected and compiled by writer, poet, journalist, and musician Nguyen Thuy Kha.

In addition, he is also active in the art field. Nguyen Thuy Kha is a poet, writer, musician, journalist and music researcher.
He has published many collections of poems, prose, film scripts, etc. In addition, he has also released a collection of music and commented on many different films. In 1998, he was asked by the Institute of Music to write a portrait novel about the 5 musicians who won the first Ho Chi Minh Prize: Nguyen Xuan Khoat, Luu Huu Phuoc, Do Nhuan, Van Cao and Hoang Viet. In 2000, a book of 5 portrait novels called "Musical Faces of the Century" was completed and published internally in the music industry.

Born in Vinh Bao (Hai Phong), Nguyen Thuy Kha devoted much of his passion to researching the life and career of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem. In 1991, he released the documentary Nguyen Binh Khiem - The Great deal is over 500 Years. The work created a great resonance and received an award from the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in 1992.

In the last year of his life, poet - musician Nguyen Thuy Kha was treated for colon cancer at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. After a period of struggling with the disease, his health gradually weakened, and he could not survive.
