The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has issued an official statement confirming that it does not authorize any individual or organization to organize an event called Special Dinner & talk Show (Special Dinner & Chat Show) which is being widely promoted on social networks.
According to MUO, using the name, logo, trademark or Miss Universe brand identification factors for independent activities, including the above event, without written approval, is considered a violation of intellectual property rights and affects the brand reputation.
The organization emphasized that any voting programs, media launches or activities related to Miss Universe that are spreading online are not authorized and can cause misunderstanding to the public.
The notice also affirms that MUO reserves all legal rights to take necessary actions for any individual or unit that arbitrarily exploits the image, name or assets of the Miss Universe brand for commercial purposes without consent. MUO also calls on the media, fans and partners to only refer to information from official channels such as the Missuniverse.com website, @missuniverse account and Miss Universe Facebook page to ensure authenticity.
This move was made after Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil - President of Miss Grand International (MGI) posted a notice affirming that his team will take charge of organizing Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand and organize the "Special Dinner & talk Show" activity by voting for contestants participating in Miss Universe 2025.
However, according to a statement from MUO, although Mr. Nawat is the one who will host the Miss Universe 2025 contest, it does not mean that the Special Dinner & talk Show activity that he gave is within the official framework set by the contest.
Previously, Mr. Nawat also caused controversy when he opened ticket sales for the meeting and dinner event with the reigning Miss Universe 2024 - Victoria Kjær Theilvig, for about 4.4 million VND/ticket.
The above information quickly caused a stir in the international beauty fan community, when just a few months ago, Mr. Nawat spent 5.4 million USD (about 136 billion VND) to own the copyright of Miss Universe Thailand for the period 2025 - 2029. However, his decision to arbitrarily attach the Miss Universe brand to commercial activities has led to questions about the legality and transparency of the event.
With the latest announcement, Miss Universe Organization affirms its consistent stance: all activities related to the Miss Universe brand are only recognized when released through the organization's official channels. This action is considered a direct warning to those who arbitrarily exploit the Miss Universe brand, and at the same time demonstrates the determination to protect the value, image and integrity of this long-standing beauty contest.
