This has caused the demand for travel to increase sharply, especially on domestic routes.

Initially, Anh Hai's group planned to go to Da Nang combined with Hoi An for 4 days. However, when ticket prices increased and costs increased, the group decided to shorten their schedule, switch to a destination near Hanoi and prioritize more economical travel options by road.
Similarly, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huyen (43 years old, Hanoi) also changed her travel plan with her family when the ticket price for the Hanoi - Phu Quoc route increased from about 4 million VND to more than 7.5 million VND/person on April 30 - May 1.
I want to take my children on long vacation, but at this time checking every day the price is high, so I have to change my plan" - Ms. Huyen said.
Instead of traveling to the sea by plane, Ms. Huyen thought of nearby destinations such as: Sam Son (Thanh Hoa), Cat Ba (Hai Phong)... Her family will drive their own car to save costs, and also book rooms early to avoid running out of places on peak days.
According to surveys, airfares for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route continue to maintain high prices. In the direction from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, round-trip airfares in the period April 24-26 range from 5.4 - 6.7 million VND/person; similar prices are also recorded in the opposite direction. For passengers who choose to go to the peak period April 30 - May 3, the popular ticket price is from 5.2 - 6.2 million VND/person, although there are still many flight times to choose from.
Other tourist routes also recorded significant increases. Hanoi - Da Nang round-trip ticket prices in the period April 30 - May 3 ranged from 4.2 - 6.8 million VND/person, an increase of about 20% compared to mid-month.
Hanoi - Phu Quoc route from 7.6 - 8.1 million VND/person; Hanoi - Nha Trang from 6.5 - 10.8 million VND/person and the number of good hour flights is no longer many. Google Flights records that ticket prices for many domestic routes in Vietnam during holidays are 2-4 million VND higher than usual.
Short-day tours, tourism is almost on the rise
Tourism businesses also recorded a clear shift to short-day tours, road tours or self-sufficient tours by personal vehicles. In the context of rising air transportation costs, road tourism is seen as a solution to help tourists still enjoy their vacation without having to bear additional financial pressure.

However, if input costs continue to fluctuate, the possibility of product price increases from the summer onwards is unavoidable.
