At the end of June 2024, Quang Ninh province launched the website amazinghalong.vn, a platform integrating modern technology, directly connecting with TikTok Foodtour Quang Ninh and official information sources.
This website not only provides useful information but also acts as a digital tour guide, assisting visitors in their journey of discovery.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Chi - a tourist from Hanoi - shared: "Currently, the situation of fraud and fake tour sales is very common. However, when I intended to travel with my family to Ha Long, my friends introduced me to this website. Indeed, it is very useful and helped my family have memorable experiences in the heritage land."
In addition to the website, Quang Ninh also developed a QR code application to provide official information about destinations. At the special national relic of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site on Co To Island, with just a QR code scan, visitors are provided with images and automatic explanations about highlights such as: President Ho Chi Minh Monument; President Ho Chi Minh Temple; Khoai Slope, Memorial House, Salt Field, Tung Co To Park and National Sovereignty Flagpole.
The QR code also integrates information about Co To culture and tourism, helping visitors learn and plan their trip.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Linh - Head of the Department of Culture, Information and Tourism of Co To district - said: "Cyberspace helps create a complete and scientific data warehouse, supporting people and tourists to look up information easily. Through QR codes, we can also track the number of visitors, thereby supporting research and promoting tourism images more effectively."
The QR code application is being expanded to other tourist destinations, such as on tourist trams in Mong Cai, or in the City tour service of Sen A Dong Tourism (Ha Long). This helps tourists proactively explore their journey, creating more convenient and flexible experiences.
Not stopping at providing information, Quang Ninh has applied virtual reality (VR) technology to tourism. This technology allows visitors to listen to explanations from a distance, observe destinations in all directions, zoom in or rotate the view as if experiencing reality.
This technology vividly recreates destinations through 360-degree panoramic images, bringing authenticity and appeal.
Digital transformation is spreading at many destinations in Quang Ninh such as Quang Ninh Museum deploying an online ticket sales system from the summer of 2024. At Yen Tu space at the museum, visitors will experience a tour with 4 cameras broadcasting live images from the tower, cable car station and VR 360 is being deployed at open-pit and underground coal mines.
The combination of tourism and technology is not only an inevitable trend but also a driving force for sustainable development of the tourism industry. Quang Ninh is applying digital transformation, building smart tourism, contributing to creating unique products, meeting the increasing needs of tourists.
