According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper on the evening of December 31, in the Muong Thanh pedestrian street area, belonging to Muong Thanh Market and Trade and Service (Muong Thanh Tourist Market, Dien Bien Phu ward), the number of people flocking to welcome the New Year 2026 is increasing. The roads leading to the pedestrian street have become locally congested.
The atmosphere in the mountain town became particularly vibrant with street music and brightly lit stalls. The focus of attention focused on the main stage, where the Countdown program and art fireworks took place.

A highlight in the series of New Year's activities is the "Radiant Spring Colors of Dien Bien 2026" event organized by the Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at 10 pm on December 31st.
Unlike every year, this year's program is organized in the open space of Muong Thanh pedestrian street with strong investment in performance technology.
According to Mr. Tran Hai Ha - Acting Director of Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, New Year celebration activities have become annual activities of the province, but this year they are organized in a new form, with a more modern approach, suitable for the trend of enjoying culture and entertainment of a large number of people and tourists.

This is an effort to serve the people, create a joyful atmosphere in the moment of transition, and at the same time promote the image of Dien Bien land and people, stimulating tourism demand" - Mr. Ha said.
According to the Organizing Committee, the art program is designed in a continuous manner, taking the audience through many levels of emotions. From deep live melodies, the space gradually shifts to the explosion of vibrant DJ music sets for young people.

Especially, for the first time in Dien Bien, the audience was satisfied with the "Light Dance" performance. The combination of skillful dance, LED lighting system and advanced performance technology also created a strong visual effect, "igniting" the night festival atmosphere.
Besides the music party, visitors can also experience culinary culture at booths introducing delicious Northwest specialties and participate in a free beer festival.
