Joining the flow of the country, the 42nd Television Festival took place at a time of special significance for the thousand-year-old and heroic country of Vietnam; together with the country's press and television industry to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; especially the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Dinh (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025).
The 42nd National Television Festival has 734 entries from 100 participating units, in 11 categories: Program for children, Department of Education, Dialogue - Seminar, Ethnic Minority Television, Music and Dance, Documentary films, Reporting, Short Reporting, Stage, TV Feature films, Video on digital platforms.

At the closing ceremony, the judges awarded 54 gold prizes, 98 silver prizes, 223 consolation prizes and 3 individual prizes to groups of authors with outstanding works.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his congratulations to the collectives and individuals who won prizes at this year's Festival - people full of creativity, enthusiasm and dedication.
According to the Prime Minister, the 42nd National Television Festival is not only a professional festival but also an opportunity for innovation, creativity and a noble sense of responsibility for those working in newspapers and television for the country and the people.
The 42-year journey of the festival season is a journey of tireless dedication, burning passion, creativity, strong, unlimited innovation and continuous progress. From having only a few genres and units participating, the festival has now become a prestigious, large-scale playground, comprehensively and promptly reflecting all aspects of social life, contributing to the creativity and innovative spirit of the Vietnamese television industry in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Prime Minister also expressed his deep impression of the entries this year, demonstrating the diversity, richness, depth, full of humanity and the breath of life of the country.
In the period when the country is changing strongly, entering a new era, building a rich, civilized, and prosperous country, the role of press and television is even more important. This is the bridge between the Party, State and people; arousing the belief and aspiration to contribute; spreading noble human values, good feelings and promoting the spirit of great national unity.
The Prime Minister hopes and believes that the television industry will continue to maintain its professional identity, form a national digital television ecosystem, open up new creative and development space, and make stronger breakthroughs for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.
