Thanh Son shared with Lao Dong reporter about the memories and experiences that he assessed as "never having a second time in life".
Director of the Department of Performing Arts, People's Artist Xuan Bac once shared that many artists have sent messages expressing their desire to participate in the parade and march under the A80 mission. So, what prompted you to decide to attend this special event?
- I did not text Xuan Bac, but followed the direction of being an artist of the Youth Theater. This year, I really feel very lucky. Not only since the A80s, but before that, on the occasion of April 30 during the A50 mission, I also had the opportunity to accompany artists from the Youth Theater to visit Truong Sa island. After that trip, I shared with the brothers in the group that I really hope to be able to participate in and contribute a part to the grand ceremony at the A80 occasion.
And it was a great joy that this time in A80, I, Thu Quynh, Luong Thu Trang... and about 10 other brothers of the Youth Theater were chosen to participate. The moment I heard the news, I was both happy and moved. And on August 12, I started my first training session for the parade.
During the days of practicing with artists for A80, which memory left you with the deepest impression?
- everything I experienced during the recent training trip, practicing for the A80 mission, became a memorable memory. Rarely have we artists been able to live in such a special atmosphere, being so close to the audience.
It is said to be close to the audience, but in fact it is not only a physical distance, but also a connection in emotions. That is a feeling of both pride and emotion when feeling the love and respect that the audience has for the artist. For me, it was an unforgettable memory, an experience that I probably won't have a second time in my life. It was a feeling of happiness that I really could not express in words. In my previous career, I may not have experienced such a special feeling. This is the first time.
In the cultural block, besides the Northern actors, there are also artists from the Central and Southern regions. How do you feel about this special gathering?
- For me, this parade is not only about the intersection of the three regions but also the diversity of professions and art genres. I belong to the film industry, but besides that, there are other singers, and teachers in traditional arts such as Tuong, Cheo singing, Cai Luong...
This is truly an opportunity for artists to sit together, chat and share many things. Not only that, I also had the opportunity to get acquainted with my brothers and sisters in the sports field, expanding my relationships and valuable experiences.
During this parade, will you have the opportunity to meet and interact with the actors of the movie "Red Rain"?
- I met them but because they were not in the same parade, they could not practice together.
How do you evaluate the heat and influence of the film Red Rain?
- I always believe and hope that "Red Rain" will win at the box office, even more resounding than now.
I always support films that exploit the theme of the Vietnamese war. Since I had the opportunity to participate in "Scent of the burning grass", I have hoped that this genre will develop more strongly and attract more attention from the audience. Because just a successful film will pave the way, creating a boost for many other works to be released. In fact, the history of the Vietnamese war still has countless humane, touching and touching stories that the audience deserves to know.
I hope that those real stories will be spread more widely to the people, especially the younger generation. When I made Scent of the burnt grass and talked with Hoang Nhuan Cam or the veterans, I realized how rich the treasure trove of war memories is. The problem is that we still lack the conditions and funding to exploit all those precious materials. Therefore, I really hope that in the future, the war film genre will be invested more, have more successful works and touch the hearts of the audience.
Thank you for the conversation!
