Based on the famous online novel - " Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" about Yeon Ji Young (YoonA) - an award-winning French chef who traveled back in time to the past 500 years.
Here, she meets the tycoon king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst tycoon - and also a phlegm.
Sharing about the work, YoonA said that she was attracted to the cooking theme and felt that the cook character Yeon Ji Young was very interesting, so she wanted to challenge herself in a new image. The reason is because Ji Young is attractive, intelligent and confident.
Ji Young is always clear about his thoughts and chooses his own path instead of being led by others. The cleverness, confidence and appeal of the character left a strong impression on me, the SNSD member explained.
To prepare for the role, YoonA paid attention to her voice tone, expressions as well as preparing costumes for the character in each stage - from modern to the past.
In addition, during the 3 months, she met chefs and learned everything, from how to use cooking utensils to the process of making dishes. The actress spent a lot of time practicing cooking in many different ways to make the process of getting into character the most natural.
I learned a new technique called flambe (a French cooking technique in which wine is added to dishes or sauces and quickly burns at high temperatures), and I think it is the technique I show most clearly in the film. Thanks to that, I became more confident in cooking, and in the role. I think this could be my best performance.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty will premiere on August 23. Meanwhile, on August 13, the movie "Pretty Crazy" starring YoonA and Ahn Bo Hyun officially premiered in Korean theaters. The film will be released to Vietnamese audiences on September 5.
