Shin Hye Sun returns after controversial healing film

Secret Audit is Shin Hye Suns latest project. In the film, she co-starred with Gong Myung, Kim Jae Wook and Hong Hwa Yeon.

Korean media reported on August 6 that the new drama "Secret Audit" by director Lee Soo Hyun and screenwriter Yeo Eun Ho confirmed the cast.

Belonging to the romantic comedy genre, the film revolves around Joo In Ah (Shin Hye Sun) - an attractive auditing department head who is hiding a secret, and Noh Ki Joon (Gong Myung) - the accounting department's cardloser who is being bribed to an internal cultural manager.

According to the producer, Shin Hye Sun's character is a cold, sharp department head and never shows traicion in work. She is known by nicknames such as Joo In Out (who is noticed as going away), or Joo Ji Tham (who is opposed to being trampled).

As the youngest woman in the company to achieve a high-level executive position, In Ah leads a life almost perfect, however, her life begins to fall into chaos when facing Noh Ki Joon - the person she herself assigned to investigate the scandal.

According to Shin Hye Sun, this is the project that she is looking forward to. The actress herself will also prepare carefully for the role to bring the audience the best image. Compared to Dear Hyeri - the previous project, Secret Audit is a new challenge for the actress.

In the previous work, the film initially scored points because it was told logically and realistically, with Shin Hye Sun's impressive acting as Joo Eun Ho - a girl with dissociative personality disorder.

However, in the final stage, the work was criticized for its unreasonable plot, the male lead Hyun Oh (Lee Jin Wook) was selfish and heartless, and many times took the multi-personality of the female lead Joo Eun Ho for granted.

The superficial interpretation at the end of the film is aimed at making the main couple "break the deal and get healthy", despite Hyun Oh repeatedly saying hurtful words to the female lead, making "Dear Hyeri" which had a healing color become a work "salted with salt on the wound" by the audience, while also making the acting efforts of Shin Hye Sun and the cast go into a dead end.

However, Secret Audit exploiting the story of auditors - a topic that has not appeared too much in Korean films is also considered a factor that can attract viewers. In addition, Korean newspapers have high expectations for Shin Hye Sun's brilliance, along with her "chemistry" with the cast Gong Myung, Kim Jae Wook and Hong Hwa Yeon.

In this project, Kim Jae Wook plays Jeon Jae Yeol - a 3rd generation tycoon who chooses inheritance over love, while Hong Hwa Yeon (the female lead of the movie "Buried Heart") plays Park Ah Jung - Jeon Jae Yeol's secretary.

Secret Audit is in the process of filming and is expected to air in 2026.
