The writing contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" is an activity to celebrate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), organized by the People's Army Newspaper in coordination with Military Bank MBBank.
After 5 times of organization, the contest is increasingly expanding in scale, becoming a prestigious and spreading press playground throughout the country. For the 5th contest alone, the Organizing Committee received 651 entries from 72 press agencies, an increase of 110 entries and 21 press agencies compared to the previous organization.

The entries closely follow the theme, reflecting many contents on protecting the Party's ideological foundation according to Resolution No. 35 of the 12th Politburo.
In the past 5 years, more than 2,800 works from 243 press agencies nationwide have been submitted to participate in the contest. Notably, more than 45% of entries came from experts, scientists, generals, and managers.
Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Le Ngoc Long - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper said that the highlight of the 5th contest is the combativeness, theoreticality and topicality in many works that have been clearly enhanced.
The contest recorded many products that boldly delve into analyzing manifestations of degradation within the internal ranks such as bureaucracy, formalism, extreme democracy, authoritarianism, dictatorship, benevolence, arrogance, factionalism, localism... in cadre work," said Colonel Le Ngoc Long.
According to Mr. Long, many articles have sharp arguments, vivid evidence, clearly showing the political responsibility and professional bravery of revolutionary journalists in the struggle to refute wrong and hostile views.
The contest contributes to connecting, mobilizing, and multiplying the strength of press agencies nationwide in propaganda, struggle, and protection of the Party's ideological foundation," Colonel Le Ngoc Long emphasized.

Through two preliminary and final rounds of judging, the Final Judging Council selected 31 excellent works to be awarded prizes in three groups including central newspapers, local newspapers and magazines.
The prize structure includes 3 A prizes, 6 B prizes, 9 C prizes and 13 consolation prizes. A total of 27 press agencies won prizes, including 7 central newspapers, 10 local newspapers and 10 magazines.
