On June 4, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a seminar on "Digital transformation in the field of Culture".
Deputy Minister Phan Tam - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on science, technology development, innovation, digital transformation, administrative reform and Project 06 chaired the Workshop.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam said that the Digital Transformation Workshop in the Cultural field to kick off the development of the Cultural Digital Transformation Project to 2030, with a vision to 2045 - a first thematic document of special significance, aiming to shape a new, long-term and methodical direction for digital transformation for the cultural sector in the digital age.
Speaking at the workshop, Director of the Center for Digital Transformation of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan said that in recent times, Party and State leaders have issued drastic instructions on promoting the development of science and technology and digital transformation.
In particular, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation has identified: Development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation is a decisive factor in the development of countries; a prerequisite, the best opportunity for our country to develop richly and strongly in the new era - the era of national growth.
Deploying the direction of the Politburo, the Government, the Prime Minister, over the past time, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Minister Phan Tam and the leaders of the Ministry have drastically urged and implemented the tasks of developing science and technology, innovation and transformation of the number of cultural, sports and tourism sectors.
In the Government's Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP of April 1, 2025, amending, supplementing and updating the Government's action plan to implement the Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo and the Government assigned the tasks to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism: "Building and implementing the Digital Scheme in the cultural field" submitting to the Prime Minister for approval in December December 2025.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam said that at the Workshop, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that the Workshop will achieve some initial results.
First, clarify the characteristics and unique nature of digital transformation in the cultural field, unify a common understanding between the cultural - artistic and technological - innovation - digital transformation world.
Second, establish some principles of platform approach, ensure digital transformation does not flatten diversity, does not reduce the depth of cultural - emotional - memory values; on the contrary, deepen the ability to preserve, create and spread Vietnamese cultural values in the digital environment.
Third, promote substantial connections between "bridges" from the cultural industry and "bridges" from technology enterprises, laying the foundation for co-creative models that can be replicated, creating a widespread influence, especially forming a vibrant digital cultural ecosystem.
"We also call on units in the arts, heritage, library, publishing, museum, institutional sector... to clearly demonstrate their responsibility, actively and proactively contribute both intelligence and resources, closely coordinate with technology units and specialized units and departments in Digital Transformation to put digital transformation into the substance of cultural life", Deputy Minister Phan Tam expressed.
At the workshop, experts in the field of culture and digital transformation presented presentations on the issue of digital transformation in the cultural sector; leaders of state management units, specialized agencies and representatives of enterprises in the field of digital technology shared lessons learned in the practice of digital transformation in the cultural sector.
