Representatives of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said that the Capital is a thousand-year-old civilization - a place that preserves a massive treasure of traditional cultural values, forged through the length of the nation's history. In that treasure, the system of nearly 1,900 traditional festivals in the city plays an extremely important role, vividly reflecting the religious life and community cultural activities of the people of the Capital. At the same time, it contributes to fostering identity, spreading good values, crystallizing the depth of history and the thousand-year civilization of Hanoi.
In recent years, the management and organization of festivals in Hanoi City has gradually become more disciplined, increasingly being implemented methodically and seriously. Festivals are organized solemnly, safely, economically, and in compliance with regulations on management and organization of festivals.
On the basis of the achieved results, the current requirement is to continue to improve the quality of festival organization in a more synchronous and sustainable direction, focusing on building a healthy cultural festival environment, taking cultural and human values as the center.
Previously, in order to continue to improve the quality of festival management and organization, on August 3, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued the "Criter Set on the Cultural Environment in Traditional Festivals". The set of criteria is an important orientation document, contributing to concretizing the requirements for building a cultural environment in festivals; and is also a basis for evaluating and improving the efficiency of festival organization at the grassroots level.
The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to identify the implementation of the "Criter set on building a cultural environment in traditional festivals" as a key task in the State management of festivals.
