On June 10, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed Decision No. 1657/QD-BVHTTDL on the inclusion of Thai brocade weaving in Nghe An in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, a traditional handicraft.
Brocade weaving has long been an indispensable part of the cultural and spiritual life of the Thai community living in the West of Nghe An. From the primitive curtain frame, with skillful hands and folk memories, Thai women weaved fabric with elaborate patterns, containing history, customs and national soul.

This heritage not only shows skillful manual techniques but also reflects the worldview, beliefs and aesthetics typical of the Thai people - with gaiomic patterns, symbols of mountains and forests, wild animals and harmony with nature. Many brocade products are used in wedding parties, New Year's Eve celebrations, ancestral worship and daily activities.
According to the Decision, People's Committees at all levels where there is a heritage are responsible for state management according to the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage, ensuring the promotion and preservation of the value of this traditional profession in contemporary life.
The recognition of brocade weaving as a national intangible cultural heritage is not only a worthy recognition of the cultural preservation contributions of the Thai ethnic group, but also an opportunity to develop community tourism, create livelihoods and enhance the position of indigenous culture in the context of integration.
