At the regular press conference on the afternoon of May 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports) responded regarding what artists or individuals need to do in the face of insults and attacks in the past time.
According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, in case of detecting individuals or other organizations showing signs of posting content that insults honor, dignity, and affects individuals or artists, artist families, the use of social networks to counter-attack is not appropriate in this situation.
This agency believes that in all circumstances, organizations and individuals artists need to maintain calmness and behave appropriately when participating in the online environment.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, social network users need to respect cultural diversity, regional differences, ethnicities, and religions; at the same time, contribute to spreading positive values instead of continuing to incite controversy or conflict in the digital space.
Representatives of the department also recommended that when detecting acts showing signs of legal violations on social networks, individuals should proactively collect evidence, save images, videos, articles, comments or related data to serve as a basis for requesting functional agencies to support handling.
Organizations and individuals need to promptly collect evidence, documents, and evidence for competent authorities to consider, guide, and handle violations according to regulations if any," the department said.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the handling of acts of insulting and defaming in cyberspace needs to be carried out in accordance with legal procedures, avoiding the mentality of self-resolution by livestreaming, denunciation or counter-attacking on digital platforms.
In the past time, many cases of artists and celebrities, even other individuals arguing back and forth on social networks, have attracted great attention from public opinion, leading to a series of widespread arguments on many platforms.
The case of actress Bich Tram is an example. She spoke out to argue with the online community about whether to support or not support Hong Loan's family - artist Vu Linh's adopted daughter.
According to actress Bich Tram, she was also insulted by many YouTubers and TikTokers, her husband and family for a long time. The actress also spoke out against it because she suffered a lot of frustration. So there were back-and-forth arguments in cyberspace.
Bich Tram has learned from experience after the Department reminded her about the online controversy. In parallel with that, she also filed a denunciation against some individuals who insulted her family and her family.
On the side of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, this unit continues to call on organizations and individuals to seriously comply with legal regulations when participating in activities in the online environment, and jointly build a healthy digital cultural space.
It is necessary to join hands to build a clean online cultural environment, spreading good values in the spirit of multiplying beauty, eliminating evil, and using positive to push back negative things," the department representative emphasized.
For cases of law violations, functional agencies affirm that they will handle them strictly according to regulations and authority.
