During the holidays, Quang Ninh organizes many large-scale cultural, sports, and tourism activities, notably the art program Countdown to welcome the New Year 2026 at 30/10 Square, attracting over 50,000 people and tourists.
New Year's programs are also organized in Van Don and Co To.
The whole province will have 19 events and activities serving people and tourists throughout the holiday.
According to the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the 5 days of New Year holiday 2026 (from December 31, 2025 to January 4, 2026), the total number of tourists in the province is estimated at 657,000; of which international visitors reached 70,500, domestic visitors 586,500.
Visitors are estimated at 218,000 arrivals. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 1,620 billion VND.
Specifically, Ha Long Bay welcomed 43,837 visitors; Sun World Ha Long Park about 22,000 visitors; Quang Ninh Museum welcomed 6,850 visitors; Yen Tu is estimated to reach 9,839 visitors; Van Don welcomed about 51,000 visitors.
Tourists entering through Mong Cai border gate reached 13,576 arrivals.
On January 1, 2026, Quang Ninh welcomed the Celebrity Solstice super yacht, bringing more than 3,000 international tourists and more than 1,200 crew members to Ha Long.
Room occupancy rate in 4-5 star hotels averages 65-70%, especially on some peak days it reaches 85-90%.
Throughout the holidays, the tourism business environment is basically stable; security and order, and environmental sanitation are ensured.
