Tuyen Thanh Festival was first held in 2004, then upgraded to provincial level in 2014. After more than 20 years, the colorful giant light models and renewed every year have become the Mid-Autumn Festival brand of Tuyen Quang province for domestic and foreign tourists.
To continue to promote its own values, in September 2025, Tuyen Quang province issued many documents to regulate the performance of Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns on the streets as well as strengthen the management of this activity.
If every year, Mid-Autumn Festival lantern performances on the streets of residential groups take place almost every day of the week, now this is only held every Friday and Saturday night.
In addition, to ensure traffic safety, Mid-Autumn Festival lantern models are only allowed to move according to a unified route on central streets permitted by the authorities. The light models go in the same lane, in the right direction and do not stop or park on the road.

This is to ensure suitability, avoiding disruption of students' study time and normal activities and traffic of the people. Organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival lantern performance on Friday and Saturday evenings is the time in line with the schedule, attracting tourists to Tuyen Quang.
This is the second time Ms. Tran Minh Anh (Hai Phong City) has come to Tuyen Quang to immerse herself in the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere on the streets. For Ms. Minh Anh, each time she comes is an experience with many impressions of the tradition of welcoming the Mid-Autumn Festival in this land.
"I have not seen any province with many giant Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns like in Tuyen Quang, very beautiful and sparkling with colors. This year, I know that I only organize light carts on weekends, which is very appropriate, because in fact, tourists only have time to come on weekends," said Ms. Minh Anh.
Meanwhile, for local people, this change is very welcome. Mr. Hoang Tung (Minh Xuan ward, Tuyen Quang) said: "During the week, children still have to study, so it is suitable to carry lanterns on weekends. Not to mention that if the lights are everywhere, the road will be packed, causing traffic jams and making it difficult to travel."
The People's Committees of communes and wards in Tuyen Quang province have signed a commitment with villages, hamlets and residential groups participating in the parade to raise awareness of responsibility. Heads of residential groups must be responsible for checking the safety conditions of the model before circulating, proactively developing a traffic accident prevention plan in accordance with local conditions.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Pham Quoc Chuong - Chairman of Minh Xuan Ward People's Committee said that as one of the central wards, where mainly light parades take place during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the management of this activity is of special interest to the locality.
According to Mr. Chuong, in recent times, Minh Xuan ward has had many models participating in street parades, creating an important highlight, attracting a large number of tourists. However, there are still many models that are not safe and not complete, some models do not ensure the theme, aesthetics, traditional customs, offensive costumes, and use inappropriate sound and light.
"We have issued a document requiring models participating in the parade at Thanh Tuyen Festival to register and be granted a brand identity logo, ensuring fire safety, and strictly in accordance with customs.
models without registration and logos will not be allowed to participate in the parade in the area. Advertising and hanging signs on the model must also comply with legal regulations, avoid abuse, and reduce the value of the festival," Mr. Chuong informed.
