After more than 150 years, the ballet "Don Quixote" has always been loved by the world thanks to its ability to balance drama and technique, between humorous laughter and emotion. Accordingly, "Don Quixote" is ranked in the Top 10 classic ballet works that live forever over time.
Audiences in Vietnam have not had the opportunity to enjoy this great work with the original version by famous choreographer Marius Petipa. Therefore, the Vietnam Theater for Music and Drama (VNOB) will introduce the masterpiece Ballet Don Quixote at Ho Guom Theater on June 27 and 28.

Inspired by Cervantes' novel of the same name, the ballet written by the legend Marius Petipa in 1869, Ludwig Minkus's music will take audiences lost in an adventure between the "dream" and "realty" of the knight Don Quixote.
The character Don Quixote is the embodiment of romantic ideals - a person immersed in a world of luxury or, where love and courage are Dieu hoalized.
Overcoming the central romance of Kitri and Basilio, the ballet "Don Quixote" is created by a sophisticated artistic structure, where the image of knight Don Quixote plays the role of a poetic bridge between the two worlds.
It is this continuous shift between "real" and "dream" that has created a special attraction, turning "Don Quixote" not only a entertainment masterpiece but also a profound artistic declaration of aspiration, illusion and the nature of human happiness.
Speaking about the ballet "Don Quixote", Meritorious Artist Phan Manh Duc - Director of the Vietnam Music and Drama Theater shared: "I know it is difficult to overcome many obstacles such as actor resources, time, finance..., but with the determination to bring the world's top artistic products to Vietnam, meeting the audience's need to enjoy worthy art, VNOB is ready to bring Don Quixote to the Vietnamese stage".

The program gathered nearly 60 dancers, more than 60 musicians of the symphony orchestra and the creative and production team... In particular, the play had the participation of generations of Vietnamese ballets. The ballet troupe is choreographed by choreographer, Meritorious Artist Luu Thu Lan and Pham Minh - Director of La SALLE Dance School (France).
VNOB's symphony orchestra under the command of "goddess" Dong Quang Vinh will bring the most wonderful melody to the play "Don Quixote".
