What should workers who work outdoors drink in cold weather?

First of all, warm water is a simple but extremely necessary choice. Drinking warm water regularly helps keep the body warm, supports blood circulation and soothes the throat in cold wind conditions.

Many people have a habit of drinking less water in winter due to less thirst, but this easily leads to silent dehydration, causing fatigue and reduced concentration when working outdoors.

Besides warm water, herbal tea such as ginger tea, cinnamon tea, chrysanthemum tea are also very suitable for outdoor workers in cold weather.

Ginger and cinnamon are warm in nature, helping to relax blood vessels, increase blood circulation and keep the body warm from within. Herbal tea also has the effect of relaxing, reducing stress and supporting the prevention of flu - a common disease when working for a long time in cold weather.

Warm milk and cereal drinks such as oatmeal, hot soybeans are also good choices. These drinks provide energy, protein and minerals, helping workers maintain endurance and limit feelings of hunger and cold during work. In particular, drinking warm milk in the morning or in the middle of the hour helps the body quickly recover lost heat.

Conversely, outdoor workers should limit alcohol, strong coffee or cold soft drinks in cold weather. Alcohol and beer, although creating an immediate warm feeling, actually dilate the blood vessels excessively, causing the body to lose heat faster and potentially cardiovascular risks. Cold drinks are also easy to irritate the throat and adversely affect the respiratory system.

Choosing suitable drinks on cold days is a simple but effective measure to help outdoor workers protect their health.

Drinking enough warm water, prioritizing herbal tea, and nutritious drinks will help the body fight the cold better and ensure labor safety in winter.
