Another important problem is the potassium content in cassava. For people with kidney disease, especially kidney failure, the body's ability to excrete potassium is reduced. Consuming foods rich in potassium can increase blood potassium, which can have a negative impact on the cardiovascular system.
Although cassava is not a food with a very high potassium content compared to some other vegetables, if eaten in large quantities or eaten regularly, the risk of potassium accumulation can still occur, especially when kidney function has declined.
