Expecting a job near home
The inauguration event of the Phu Thuan Industrial Park Infrastructure Project on December 19 marked an important turning point in contributing to the socio-economic development of Vinh Long province. The project is over 231 hectares wide, with a total investment of over VND 3,443 billion.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Sau (62 years old) expressed her joy that her children and grandchildren will have a job near home and no longer have to work far away. She said that previously, most local youth had to travel to industrial parks in other provinces or industrial parks in the province, but dozens of kilometers away.
According to Ms. Sau, in the past, young people in the village often had to wake up early, travel long distances, and work hard to make a living. Many families still have to pay high rent and living expenses, making life much more difficult.
"Seeing a spacious industrial park with electricity, roads, and modern trees, I am really happy. When consumer goods, textile, footwear and agricultural product processing companies come into operation, their children and grandchildren will have jobs right in their hometown," said Ms. Sau.
Mr. Tran Hoang Viet, a worker working in Giao Long Industrial Park, also hopes that Phu Thuan Industrial Park will create more job opportunities near his home, helping to reduce costs and reduce hardship.
Currently, working far away, Mr. Viet has to spend money on accommodation, food and living expenses. Each month's accumulated expenses are also a large amount, affecting the income and family life.
"When Phu Thuan Industrial Park comes into operation, I will apply to work near my home. Having a job, having more time to take care of elderly parents and raise young children, while saving on living expenses, family life will certainly be more stable," Mr. Viet added.
In addition to the benefits of employment, people expect their lives to improve significantly. Enterprises in industrial parks promise to attract skilled workers, increase income, and reduce young labor migration, stabilize family and social economy.
Ready to welcome a new wave of investment
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Truc Son - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - emphasized the importance of the project in the strategy for developing the spearhead industry. Mr. Son affirmed that Phu Thuan Industrial Park will contribute significantly to solving employment and consuming agricultural products effectively, creating sustainable values for the province.
"The Economic Zone Management Board needs to promote investment and invite reputable, high-tech enterprises. The goal is that every meter of land in the industrial park must soon be profitable, creating stable jobs and improving people's lives," Mr. Son directed.
In addition to creating jobs and consuming agricultural products, Phu Thuan Industrial Park also opens up opportunities to attract high-tech investors, improve production capacity, and promote sustainable economic development for the whole region.
With a clean land fund of nearly 156 hectares dedicated to the factory, along with a wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 4,500 m3/day and night completed, Phu Thuan Industrial Park is ready to welcome a new wave of investment.
"The operation of Phu Thuan Industrial Park also helps form a production chain linking agriculture and processing industry, thereby improving the efficiency of the regional economy, contributing to sustainable development and creating new momentum for local prosperity," Mr. Son added.
