Over 121 billion VND in on-site human resource training
In early 2025, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province signed a decision approving the Project "Training and developing on-site human resources to serve Long Thanh International Airport (abbreviated as Long Thanh Airport) for the period 2024-2026, with a vision to 2030" in Dong Nai province with the goal of creating conditions for students and workers in Dong Nai province, especially people whose land is recovered, to meet the highest requirements for human resources to serve when Long Thanh airport is put into operation.
According to the project, Dong Nai aims to organize training and support job search at Long Thanh airport (inside and outside the airport) for permanent workers in the province by 2030, with a total of about 4,800 people. In particular, in the period of 2024-2026, the policy of integrating training for 1,600 people will be implemented and in the period of 2027-2030, the training will be organized and training will be arranged for 3,200 people.
The implementation process will connect labor supply and demand, coordination between training units, recruiting enterprises and aviation units inside and outside Long Thanh airport. At the same time, prioritize local labor recruitment, ensuring compliance with aviation industry standards.
According to the project, the field of human resource training for Long Thanh airport includes 5 areas: Aviation sector; flight management; aviation transport; provision of aviation and airport services. Other areas are also included in the project, including training human resources for out-of- air service outside Long Thanh airport such as logistics services; restaurant services; hotel services; commercial services, finance, banking; tourism; goods circulation... The total cost of the project is more than 121 billion VND.
Up to now, in Dong Nai province, 2 colleges have proactively signed cooperation with training facilities and aviation-related enterprises, namely Lilama 2 International College of Technology and Dong Nai High School of Technology.
Prioritizing jobs for Dong Nai people
The Government's request is that the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1 must be basically completed by the end of 2025, and put into commercial operation in the first half of 2026.
In early August 2025, at the working session of the Prime Minister and the Central working delegation on the progress of the Long Thanh airport project, information from the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that it will coordinate with Dong Nai province to organize a job conference for Long Thanh airport (August 23).
According to Mr. Vu The Phiet - Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACV, coordinating with Dong Nai province to organize a job conference is in the process of preparing for the operation of Long Thanh Airport.
At the conference, the units will introduce the needs and requirements for common job positions at the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1 when put into operation. ACV has determined to prioritize job positions for people in Dong Nai province, especially people who have donated land and supported the construction of Long Thanh Airport.
Previously, at the working session with the Department of Education and Training and related departments, branches and units on the Project on Training and Development of On-site Human Resources for Long Thanh Airport on July 30, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son also assigned the Department of Education and Training to establish a Zalo group to quickly and smoothly inform issues related to training and job creation for Long Thanh Airport.
Regarding the plan to organize the Long Thanh Airport Employment Fair on August 23 in An Phuoc commune, high schools within a radius of 50km from the event venue are allowed to support vehicles to take students to attend. Secondary schools, colleges, and universities encourage students to participate in the festival. Dong Nai Employment Service Center under the Department of Home Affairs mobilized personnel to participate in supporting the event.
Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son also requested the Civil Aviation Academy of Vietnam to support the Department of Education and Training in building a website and app dedicated to training and providing jobs at Long Thanh airport. In particular, students and people who want to learn a trade and find a job can register directly on the website and app. This website can be used as part of a career guidance program in schools and is deployed in all high schools.
