Metro No. 1
Started in August 2012, Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) is nearly 20 km long, with a total investment of more than VND43,700 billion, the first urban railway line in Ho Chi Minh City.
After 12 years of construction, Metro Line 1 will officially operate at the end of 2024, marking a turning point in the development of the city's modern public transport infrastructure.
The metro line connects the central area with the eastern gateway, with three underground stations (Ben Thanh, City Theater, Ba Son) and 11 elevated stations.

On average, the route serves about 53,000 passengers per day, peak hours reach nearly 7,500 passengers/hour/way, with a total of about 14 million users.
Tan Son Nhat T3 Station
After more than two years of construction, Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal was officially inaugurated on April 19, 2025, two months ahead of schedule.
With a scale of serving 20 million passengers per year, Terminal T3 helps increase the total capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers/year - becoming the largest domestic terminal in Vietnam.

The project has a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV).
Currently, Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, vasco, Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines have all been transferred to operation at Terminal T3, with only Vietjet Air continuing to operate at Terminal T1.
Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road
To synchronize operation with Terminal T3, in April 2025, Ho Chi Minh City opened the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting route to traffic.
This is a key project with a total investment of more than VND 4,800 billion, 4 km long, with a cross-section of 29 - 48 m, and a scale of 6 lanes.

This route helps connect directly to T3 station, while breaking the monopoly of Truong Son road - the only entrance to the airport before.
The route has an overpass in front of the station and an underpass through Hoang Van Thu Park, significantly reducing congestion at the largest gateway airport in the country.
Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho underpass
As one of the largest intersections in the Southern region, where two major axes intersect, Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho road used to be a "hot spot" of traffic congestion.
In 2020, Ho Chi Minh City started a project to build an underpass with a scale of two parallel tunnels in each direction of Nguyen Van Linh Avenue, each tunnel is 456 m long, with 3 lanes, with a roundabout and branches on the ground.

The project has a total investment of 830 billion VND, to be completed by the end of 2024. The project put into operation has significantly reduced traffic congestion, especially with heavy transport vehicles traveling in and out of the South and Hiep Phuoc port area.
Ba Son Bridge
Inaugurated in April 2022, Ba Son Bridge (formerly Thu Thiem 20 Bridge) is nearly 1.5 km long, 6 lanes wide, with a total investment of VND 3,100 billion.
The bridge has a modern cable-stayed design with a113 m high tower, the shape of the dragon head extending towards Thu Thiem - symbolizing the dynamic development of the new urban area.

Ba Son Bridge opens an additional direct connection from the existing center to the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, reducing the load on Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Huu Canh, and Le Thanh Ton streets.
Reviving a series of "suspended" bridges
The 2020 - 2025 term also marks a great effort of Ho Chi Minh City in "reviving" a series of bridges that have been unfinished for many years.
To the East, Nam Ly Bridge on Do Xuan Hop Street was opened to traffic in October 2024, after more than 8 years of waiting. The project has a total capital of 730 billion VND, started in 2016, and has been suspended for 4 years due to land clearance problems, now completed, clearing a large bottleneck on Do Xuan Hop axis.

Also in this area, the Long Dai bridge over the Tac river (investment capital of 354 billion VND) started construction in 2017, inaugurated at the end of 2023, helping people on Long Phuoc island not have to travel around 10 km.
In the South, Long Kieng Bridge on Le Van Luong Street, after 23 years of approval and 5 years of construction, was completed in September 2023 with an investment capital of 589 billion VND.

Similarly, Phuoc Long Bridge (total capital of 750 billion VND) on Pham Huu Lau Street will open to traffic in December 2024, contributing to reducing congestion and urban beautification in the South.

To the West, Tan Ky - Tan Quy bridge with an investment of more than 490 billion VND will officially open to traffic in January 2025 after 8 years of interruption.
