On September 13, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station said that the water level on the Dong Nai river system is at a high level. At Bien Hoa station (downstream of the Dong Nai River), the peak tide on September 12 reached over 2m, exceeding alarm level 2.
Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that at Bien Hoa station, the highest peak tide above alarm level 2 will appear at about 6 pm on September 13 and will be maintained on September 14 and then gradually decrease in the following days.
Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station warns that low-lying areas along the river in the downstream of the Dong Nai River in 14 communes and wards: Tri An, Tan An, Trang Dai, Tan Trieu, Bien Hoa, Tran Bien, Tam Hiep, Long Hung, Phuoc Tan, Tam Phuoc, An Phuoc, Nhon Trach, Dai Phuoc and Phuoc An are at risk of being flooded due to high tides.
In addition, in the upstream area, low-lying areas along the Dong Nai and La Nga rivers belonging to communes and wards: Dak Lua, Nam Cat Tien, Ta Lai, Thanh Son, Phu Vinh, Phu Lam, Tan Phu, Phu Hoa and Dinh Quan are at risk of flooding.
It is necessary to note the possibility that heavy rain combined with floods may cause flooding, landslides of riverbanks, streams and low-lying areas in the downstream of the Dong Nai River, as well as in low-lying areas in the upstream of the Dong Nai River and La Nga River.
