On June 15, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), Dak Lak Provincial Police informed that the unit is implementing many synchronous solutions to prevent traffic accidents related to students.
In which, the work of controlling and preventing the situation of modifying electric bicycles and electric motorbikes is identified as one of the key tasks.
According to statistics, in the first 5 months of 2026, 184 traffic accidents occurred in the province. Among them, there were 31 cases related to students, causing 15 deaths and 15 injuries. Notably, 81.3% of accidents occurred when students directly drove vehicles.
The main causes stem from lack of observation, driving in the wrong lane, changing direction incorrectly or controlling vehicles when not meeting the conditions according to the law.
Reality shows that recently, there has been a situation where some students arbitrarily modify and change the structure of electric bicycles and electric motorbikes to increase power and speed, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.
Vehicles after technical intervention often no longer meet safety standards. This easily leads to accidents, especially when drivers lack handling skills.
Faced with the above situation, functional forces have organized propaganda and mobilization with many repair and business establishments of electric bicycles and electric motorbikes in the area to sign commitments not to implement modification, structural changes, power increase or speed increase of vehicles in violation of regulations.
