The Center for receiving monkeys (Macaca Assamensis) was handed over by the People's Committee of Dong Trach commune, witnessed by the Bo Trach Forest Protection Department and the Commune Police. Next, Dong Thuan Ward People's Committee handed over another red-faced monkey (Macaca arctoides).

Both individuals were discovered lost in residential areas by local residents. Realizing that this was a wild animal in the endangered group, people proactively notified and handed it over to the authorities.
At the time of receiving, the red-faced monkey was an adult, weighing about 5kg; the young monkey, weighing about 1kg. Both individuals were in a state of weakness and needed medical attention.
Immediately after receiving the animals, the veterinary team conducted an initial health check, taking the two subjects to the isolation area for monitoring and recovery. In the coming time, individuals will be nurtured and trained in their adaptation in the semi-wild environment. When eligible, the center will coordinate with relevant units to release them back into the natural environment.
Red-faced monkeys and monkeys are both listed in Appendix IIB - a group of endangered, precious, and rare species, limited to exploitation and use for commercial purposes according to Decree 84/2021/ND-CP of the Government.
