The Investment Project for the connecting route between Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway was approved by the Ministry of Transport under Decision 699/QD-BGTVT dated June 4, 2024, with a total investment of more than 692 billion VND. The Department of Transport of Phu Tho province is the assigned investor.
According to the update of Lao Dong Newspaper reporter at the National Bidding Network on the morning of February 6, exactly 1 month since the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Traffic, Civil and Industrial Works of Phu Tho Province (representing the investor managing the project) announced the invitation for bids for the construction package of the project, there were 2 enterprises bidding.
Package No. 16: Construction of a project worth nearly 510 billion VND. After the bid opening, there were 2 participating contractors: Cuong Thinh Thi Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company and Tu Lap Construction Company Limited.
With Cuong Thinh Thi Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company, a fairly famous construction enterprise headquartered in Ninh Binh province, having constructed many valuable construction projects across the country. This is the contractor that won Package No. 20: Construction of the section from Km23+00 - Km43+00 of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway project (phase 1) - the section through Tuyen Quang province (nearly 1,270 billion VND) as a sub-consortium since the month.
With Tu Lap Construction Company Limited, a large construction contractor headquartered in Phu Tho province. In the past, from around December 2024 to present, this contractor has won many bid packages in districts and towns in Phu Tho province, with a total value of nearly 400 billion VND. This is also the contractor that constructed the section from Km20+00 - Km31+00 of the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway (nearly 400 billion VND).
Returning to the project of investing in the connecting route of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway, after the results of selecting a contractor for Package No. 16, 1 of the 2 contractors mentioned above will construct the route with a total length of more than 2.7km, with 2 items: the main expressway and the service road, the starting point connecting with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway, the end point connecting to Ho Chi Minh Road...
For the main highway, the 2 lanes on the left side of the existing road will be invested in expansion, the roadbed width will be expanded to 12.75m (ensuring the completed scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 24.75m). For the service road, there will be a 5m wide roadbed, a 3.5m wide road surface, reaching the scale of rural traffic roads. The project route follows the direction of the Ho Chi Minh Highway currently in operation.
The project is invested with the goal of improving exploitation capacity, minimizing traffic accidents, improving investment efficiency of Noi Bai - Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressways; gradually completing the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
