Starting construction of 3 bridges in 2025
It is expected that on May 19, Hanoi will start construction of Tu Lien Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge.
The investment project to build Tu Lien Bridge and the two ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam road to the intersection with Truong Sa street) has a total length of about 5.15km. Preliminary total investment of the project 20,171 billion dong. The project was implemented in the period 2025 - 2027.
Along with the start of Tu Lien Bridge, in 2025, the city will also start construction of 2 other bridges across the Red River, Tran Hung Dao Bridge and Ngoc Hoi Bridge. It is expected that these two bridges will start construction on August 19 - September 2.
Tran Hung Dao Bridge has a total length of about 5.6km. The starting point is at the Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong intersection, Hoan Kiem district. The end point connects with Vu Duc Than street, Long Bien district. The total investment of the project is more than 15,967 billion VND. The project implementation period is in the period of 2025-2027.
The total length of Ngoc Hoi Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge is about 7.5km. The total investment of the project is 11,844 billion VND. The implementation period is in the period of 2025-2030.
According to the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, with an important political significance and development of key transport infrastructure, socio -economic development, ensuring the growth goals of the whole country and the city, the early implementation of 3 investment projects to build a large bridge over the Red River (Tu Lien Bridge and the two -end roads, Tran Hung Dao Bridge, Ngoc Hoi Bridge and the two -end roads) are very urgent.
These projects help ensure the synchronization of projects being implemented such as: The road axis from Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh) - Tu Lien bridge and Ba Dinh political center; completing the closed Ring Road 3.5 of Hanoi City is being implemented to connect with Van Giang district, Hung Yen province and increasing inter-regional traffic connectivity, connecting the center of Hanoi City with the North, Northeast of the Red River, Thai Nguyen province, Hung Yen province.
The three bridge projects also contribute to expanding the planning space to the South of the Red River, overcoming traffic congestion, and relieving traffic pressure on the overloaded Red River overpasses such as: Thang Long Bridge, Nhat Tan, Long Bien, Vinh Tuy...
Striving to start construction of two urban railway lines
In addition to the 3 projects to build Red River overpasses, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that in 2025, the city will strive to start construction of two urban railway lines No. 2 and No. 5.
The Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao urban railway line No. 2 is 11.5km long, with 8.9km underground and 2.6km elevated. This line has 7 underground stations and 3 elevated stations.
The total preliminary investment of the project is nearly VND35,600 billion, an increase of more than VND16,000 billion compared to the investment policy first approved in 2008.
The urban railway line No. 5 Van Cao - Hoa Lac has a total investment of about more than VND 61,900 billion. The project starts at Van Cao - Hoang Hoa Tham intersection (Lieu Giai ward, Ba Dinh district), the end point of the route is at Hoa Lac intersection 5km towards Hoa Binh, in Thanh Binh commune, Thach That district.
The total length of the project is more than 38km in the direction of Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Thang Long Avenue - Ring Road 4 - Hoa Lac with 6.5km underground, 2km elevated and nearly 30km of land running along Thang Long Avenue. This line has 21 stations including 6 underground stations and 15 floating stations.
