According to Vietnam Social Security, the group enjoying pensions and allowances under 10 million VND/month is the group accounting for a large proportion of the total number of beneficiaries today.

Promoting non-cash pension payments

According to Vietnam Social Security (BHXH), currently payments through personal accounts are increasingly being expanded to reduce waiting times and create convenience for beneficiaries.

This form also helps limit the situation of crowded gatherings at cash receiving points, while improving transparency and safety in the payment process.

According to current regulations, the transfer of pensions and social insurance allowances through personal accounts must be completed no later than the 5th day of each month.

For cash recipients, the payment period will last from the 12th to the end of the 25th of each month at transaction points of the payment service unit or the post office.

Data from Vietnam Social Security shows that currently there are about 3.5 million people nationwide receiving pensions and monthly social insurance allowances.

In which, more than 11,500 people receive a salary of 20 million VND/month or more; nearly 418,500 people receive a salary of 10 to less than 20 million VND per month.

In addition, more than 1 million people are receiving pensions and allowances from 6 to less than 10 million VND/month; about 1.35 million people receive levels from 3 to less than 6 million VND/month. This is the group accounting for a large proportion of the total number of beneficiaries today.

Maintaining full and on-time payment of pensions and social insurance allowances is of great significance to people's lives, especially in the context of increasing living and healthcare costs.

For many elderly people, the monthly pension is a "backing point" to help them stabilize their lives after many years of working.

The Social Insurance Agency also recommends that beneficiaries carefully monitor the payment schedule at the local level, check personal account information and proactively update new notices to avoid delays in the process of receiving June money.

Nearly 3.5 million people receive pensions and social insurance allowances in June

According to information from the social insurance agency, the payment of pensions and social insurance allowances in June 2026 will be carried out in two main time groups, depending on the organization plan in each province and city. Recipients through personal accounts will be prioritized for early money transfers, while the cash receipt form continues to be implemented through the post office system and direct payment points.

This payment is related to about 3.5 million people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits nationwide. For many elderly people, this is not only a stable income to cover living expenses but also an important financial source for medical expenses, health care and daily life.

According to the plan, 21 provinces and cities will start paying right from the first working day of the month, i.e. June 1. This group of localities includes: Son La, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Ca Mau and An Giang.

Meanwhile, the remaining 13 localities will make payments from the second working day of the month, i.e. June 2. The list includes: Hanoi, Lai Chau, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Lao Cai, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Dong Thap.

In Hanoi, the social insurance agency said that money transfers for recipients through personal accounts will be implemented from June 2 according to the city's general plan. After that, the form of receiving cash will be implemented through the post office system to ensure that people receive it fully and on time.

In June 2026, Hanoi Social Insurance is expected to spend more than 4,199 billion VND to pay pensions and social insurance allowances to more than 606,800 people currently receiving benefits in the area. This continues to be one of the localities with the largest number of beneficiaries and scale of payments in the country.

In Bac Ninh, beneficiaries receive money through personal accounts from June 1. After that, cash payments will also be implemented synchronously to ensure that people, especially the elderly in rural areas or those who have not used bank accounts, can receive money conveniently.

Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh are two localities that started paying right from the beginning of the month. Meanwhile, in Hai Phong, the money receipt schedule is implemented from June 2 according to the local plan.
