On October 1, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company issued a notice to open a bottom spillway gate at 4:00 p.m. the same day with a total discharge of about 1,215 m3/s. This will cause the water level of Gam River and Lo River in the downstream area to rise.
Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant requests People's Committees at all levels to notify people in the upstream and downstream areas of the project to proactively prevent possible damage to people and property.
Previously, on September 9, Lam Son Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company also issued a notice on regulating and releasing floodwater from the Song Lo 8A and Song Lo 8B Hydropower reservoirs.
Accordingly, Song Lo 8A Hydropower Plant opened 10 water control gates and discharged floodwater from 1:00 p.m. on September 29 with a total discharge flow through the plant of about 1,500m3/s to more than 3,000m3/s.
Song Lo 8B Hydropower Plant opened 10 water control gates and discharged floodwater from 2:00 p.m. on September 29 with a total discharge flow through the plant of about 1,600 m3/s to more than 3,000 m3/s.
