According to information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police, during the three days off the Hung Go Vuong Commemoration Day holiday (from April 5 to April 7, 2025), the situation of Traffic Order and Safety (TTATGT) in the city was guaranteed, traffic accidents decreased significantly in terms of number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries.
Accordingly, in three days, the whole city recorded 4 traffic accidents, killing 4 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 21 fewer cases, 6 fewer deaths, and no injuries.
At the same time, during the holiday, Hanoi Traffic Police have increased mobile patrols, checked, and strictly handled violations that are direct causes of accidents, such as violating alcohol concentration, carrying more people than prescribed, speeding, reckless overtaking, and not wearing helmets.
During the three days of holiday, the traffic police handled 1,335 traffic violations, temporarily detained 537 vehicles, revoked 55 driving licenses and deducted 159 points from driving licenses. The main violations include: 441 cases of alcohol concentration violations; 114 cases of speeding violations; 366 cases of oversizing and overloading; 150 cases of illegal parking stops...
The authorities also discovered and handled 26 homemade three-wheeled vehicles, and voluntarily mobilized the dismantling and cutting down of 18 self-produced and assembled three-wheeled vehicles.
The above results affirm the effectiveness of the direction and coordination of the authorities, and at the same time, it is an important basis for continuing to implement traffic safety assurance plans during the upcoming April 30 - May holiday.
On the last day of the holiday, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department has deployed reinforcements on key routes such as Phap Van - Cau Gie, National Highway 1A, elevated Ring Road 3, Nguyen Trai - Khuat Duy Tien, Giap Bat bus station, My Dinh, Gia Lam... to direct traffic, regulate timely and handle arising situations.
The authorities also noted that people should absolutely not drive after consuming alcohol. At points with high traffic density, congestion or incidents, people need to strictly comply with the orders of the authorities to ensure traffic order and safety.
It is recommended that people during the traffic participation process raise their awareness of strictly complying with the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, proactively coordinate with the authorities to make the journey back to the capital safe and smooth.
