Nghe An collects nearly 15,000 billion VND in budget after 5 months

Nghe An - State budget revenue in the first 5 months of 2026 of the province is estimated to reach 14,986 billion VND, an increase of 31% compared to the same period.

On May 29, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a press release on the socio-economic situation, national defense - security in May 2026, key tasks and solutions in June 2026.

According to the People's Committee of Nghe An province, in May 2026, the socio-economic situation of the province continued to record many positive results. Notably, state budget revenue in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at 14,986 billion VND, reaching 64.2% of the estimate, an increase of 31% compared to the same period. Local budget expenditure in the first 5 months is estimated at 21,728 billion VND, reaching 42% of the estimate.

In the field of agricultural, forestry and fishery production, localities are focusing on harvesting spring crops, and at the same time deploying summer-autumn crop production for some crops. Livestock activities continue to stabilize and develop.

The area of concentrated planted forests is estimated at 2,515ha, an increase of 1.78%. Total seafood output is estimated at 30,955 tons, an increase of 6.63% compared to the same period.

Industrial production continues to maintain growth momentum. The index of industrial production in May is estimated to increase by 18.13%, in which some sectors have made significant contributions such as electronic component manufacturing, construction stone mining, electricity production...

Regarding trade and services, total retail sales of goods and service revenue are estimated at 16,560.8 billion VND, an increase of 14.28% compared to the same period. Tourism activities have positive changes, the number of tourists in the month is estimated at 750,000.

Investment attraction work continues to achieve remarkable results. As of May 20, 2026, Nghe An province has approved investment policies, granted investment registration certificates for 21 projects; adjusted 72 projects. Total newly granted and additional capital reached 67,770 billion VND.

During the month, the whole province newly established 224 businesses with a total registered capital of 1,614.7 billion VND. Nghe An also organized a ceremony to announce and start construction of technical infrastructure for the Quynh Lap LNG Thermal Power Plant Project; Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway construction investment project.

In the field of culture and society, the province successfully organized many major events such as the Sen Village Festival on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth; inauguration of the 9-story waterfall project in the area of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan's tomb; ceremony to announce the decision and award the certificate of recognition as a national treasure for Ma Nhai stele - a special historical heritage dating from the Tran Dynasty in Con Cuong commune; opening of the Cua Lo Festival 2026.

The health sector organizes good medical examination and treatment, ensuring disease prevention and control and food safety. The education sector focuses on completing the school year tasks, organizing entrance exams to 10th grade of high school, 10th grade of Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, and preparing facilities and necessary conditions for the high school graduation exam.

Nghe An province also received SOS Children's Village Vinh and Hermann Gmeiner High School from the Vietnam SOS Children's Village system for provincial management.

Regarding organizational structure, the province organized a conference to summarize 1 year of implementing local government at 2 levels in the area. At the same time, submitting to the Ministry of Home Affairs for appraisal the dossier of the Project on classifying administrative units of Nghe An province; deciding to classify administrative units for 130 communes and wards in the province.

The People's Committee of Nghe An province said that in June 2026, the province will continue to direct departments, branches, and localities to drastically implement Project 06/CP, implement the digital transformation plan for 2026; promote administrative reform, tighten discipline and order, and improve the spirit of responsibility and work quality of cadres, civil servants, and public employees.

Along with that, the province continues to take care of social security work, ensure people's lives; maintain national defense - security, social order and safety; and effectively implement citizen reception and complaint and denunciation resolution.
