HCMC - 6 tourists who got lost while exploring Minh Dam mountain were searched, rescued by the authorities, and brought down to the mountain safely.

On August 4, Phuoc Hai Border Guard Station (under the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard) said that it had coordinated with Phuoc Hai Commune Police, Long Dien - Dat Do Forest Protection Department; Minh Dam Historical Site Management Board, 38th Artillery Company to search and rescue, and bring 6 lost people to the foot of Minh Dam mountain safely.

Previously, at around 12:30 on August 3, a group of 6 people from Ho Chi Minh City organized a tour on Minh Dam Mountain. However, due to unknown routes, at around 2pm, the group was disoriented and the phone signal was weak, making communication difficult. Therefore, a person in the group tried to contact and report to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the units coordinated to establish a working group, deploy search and rescue plans, and divided into many teams to search in the conditions of dark night, overgrown with trees, steep, and dangerous roads.

After more than 2 hours of searching in the area, at around 6:30 p.m., the forces approached the group of people who were lost, about 4.5 km from the foot of the mountain, and brought the group down the mountain safely.

The authorities recommend that people and young people proactively notify local authorities when organizing exploration and picnicking activities in mountainous and forest areas. This is not only to ensure personal safety, but also to facilitate support and rescue work in case of emergency situations.
