On the morning of July 1st, Ho Chi Minh City held a simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony for 8 key projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh City being honored to be named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026).

The Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Ben Bach Dang Public Greenery project with a scale of about 73.3 hectares, total investment of 29,317 billion VND, is implemented under a BT contract.
The sea-crossing road connecting Can Gio - Vung Tau is about 14 km long, with a total investment of about 93. 159 billion VND under the BT contract.
Ho Tram urban expressway - Long Thanh International Airport is about 42 km long, with a total investment of about 46,918 billion VND under the BT contract.
Besides, there are Cai Mep Ha General and Container Port with a total investment of about 50,000-8,200 billion VND; Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway (phase 1), 51 km long, total investment of about 22,975 billion VND; Binh Tien bridge and road with a total investment of nearly 6,300 billion VND; Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway intersection with Rung Sac road with an investment of 2,969 billion VND and Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway intersection with National Highway 50 with a total investment of 590 billion VND.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Dang Minh Truong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group (investor of the Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Ben Bach Dang Public Greenery project) - said that the greatest value of the Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi area lies not in the existing works but in the historical memories and national spirit nurtured on this land.

According to Mr. Truong, Sun Group does not aim to create a new symbol to replace existing values but aims to preserve, continue history, respect heritage, revive landscapes and foster new values so that heritage is vividly present in contemporary life.
With that orientation, Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Ben Bach Dang green space will be connected into an open space axis along the river, where people and tourists can learn about history, enjoy nature, participate in cultural activities and connect with the city.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Van Anh - Deputy General Director of Vingroup Group (investor of the Can Gio - Vung Tau sea-crossing road project) - assessed that this is a special-grade traffic project, large-scale and of strategic significance for Ho Chi Minh City as well as the entire Southeast region.

According to Ms. Van Anh, when completed, the road will shorten the travel time between Can Gio and Vung Tau to about 10 minutes, creating a breakthrough for trade, tourism development, passenger transportation, logistics and improving the quality of life of people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Hoang Nguyen Dinh emphasized that the 8 projects started today are strategic pieces in the overall infrastructure picture, contributing to realizing the city's goals of rapid and sustainable development.
According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the most special and meaningful project is Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Ben Bach Dang Public Greenery, which were started right at the historical port - where 115 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh left to find a way to save the country.
After completion, this place will become a regional-scale cultural, historical and tourist space; at the same time, contributing to landscape embellishment, modern riverside infrastructure development, connecting the past with the present and future, preserving historical values in parallel with the dynamic development of Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, the Ho Tram - Long Thanh expressway, Can Gio - Vung Tau sea-crossing road, Binh Tien bridge and road projects and intersections on the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will contribute to removing traffic bottlenecks, expanding development space towards the sea, strengthening connectivity with the southern key economic region and Long Thanh International Airport.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway will expand the Northwest gateway, strengthening links with ASEAN countries through the road transport system.
