Speaking at the 5th Conference of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee on July 8, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai said that although many results have been achieved in all fields, the province's economy has not yet reached the set growth scenario (9.22%). The disbursement rate of public investment capital as of June 30 only reached 30.51% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee frankly pointed out 3 major bottlenecks that need to be focused on removing: bottlenecks in development thinking (still showing signs of waiting and dependence); bottlenecks in cadre quality (a part is afraid of making mistakes and does not dare to do it); and bottlenecks in implementation organization (the gap from resolution to reality is still large).
The Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee requested the entire political system to focus on key tasks. In which, shift the focus from "organization arrangement" to "improving operational quality". Resolutely replace stagnant and pushing cadres; cadre evaluation must be based on products and people's satisfaction level. In July 2026, it is necessary to complete the review and remove backlog projects to unlock resources.
Develop high-quality services, taking Phu Quoc, the marine economy and smart tourism as spearheads. Identifying careful preparation for APEC 2027 as a particularly important political task, both as pressure and as a boost to upgrade infrastructure, urban management and reposition the An Giang brand.
Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee requested each member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee; each comrade, head, head; each Party Committee, Party organization, agency, unit, and locality to continue to promote the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, unity of will and action; higher determination, greater effort, more drastic and effective action; turn all guidelines and resolutions into specific and practical results.
