On the morning of September 30, the People's Committee of An Giang province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge project on the coastal road connecting An Bien - Rach Gia city (now Tay Yen commune connecting Rach Gia ward).
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc said that this is a project to celebrate the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
The project is one of the key traffic projects, playing a key role in socio-economic development, maintaining security and defense of An Giang province in particular and the Southwest region of the Fatherland in general.
The project is identified as one of the projects of strategic significance, connecting the coastal route, connecting the An Giang and Ca Mau inter-regional regions, creating new momentum for socio-economic development, responding to climate change, contributing significantly to ensuring security and defense, opening up space for the development of the West Sea direction for the province and being the gateway to connect the Mekong Delta region, being the basis for developing the marine economy in the spirit of Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW dated April 2, 2022 of the Politburo, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Peoples Committee emphasized.
Director of the Department of Construction of An Giang province Le Viet Bac said: The project is invested by the Department of Construction of An Giang province, with a total investment of VND3,900 billion.
The project uses provincial budget capital, implemented from 2025 to 2029, with a scale of 6 lanes with a total length of 3,500m, including a bridge over the two gates of Cai Lon and Cai Be rivers, 1,440m long, a 156m long river branch overpass, connecting roads and auxiliary works such as drainage system, artistic lighting, sea scenery, intersections, ensuring traffic safety, and other auxiliary works.
The project is designed according to urban bridge standards, with a design speed of 60km/h, using materials such as steel and prestressed reinforced concrete, meeting the highest technical standards according to standards and related standards.
At the ceremony, Mr. Vuong Duc Truong - Chairman of the Board of Members, General Director of Truong Phat Construction Company - said: During the bidding and bidding process, the consortium of contractors was honored to be selected by the investor as the contractor for the construction of package No. 06 - Construction of a bridge on the coastal road connecting An Bien to Rach Gia city.
"With a sense of responsibility, I, on behalf of the Joint Venture of Contractors, would like to commit to exceeding the construction schedule by 180 days according to the signed contract. To achieve the above faster progress, we hope that the People's Committee of An Giang province, the provincial authorities, the authorities of communes, wards, investors, project management boards and design consulting and supervision units will pay attention and support to create all favorable conditions for the construction unit, especially site clearance to soon complete the project and hand it over for exploitation and use", Mr. Vuong Duc Truong emphasized.
